OUR STORY
Since the establishment of the restaurant in 2007, Imperial Garden has won the hearts of the local people and beyond. The birth of the restaurant traces its roots all the way back to China where Head Chef, Cheng, fell in love with Chinese cuisine and its flavours. From a young age, he was experimenting with food and learning recipes from fellow chefs and the local people enabling him to perfect his recipes over the years to serve the delicious food today.
Imperial Garden is a multi-award winning restaurant and has been named as the ‘Top Chinese Restaurant in Devon since 2022 by Prestige Awards. We are also named the ‘Top 3 Chinese Restaurants in Plymouth’ for 8+ Consecutive Years since 2016. Today, Imperial Garden continues to operate as a family-owned restaurant, delivering authentic and delicious Chinese food for all, and has expanded to providing Vegan Chinese food too. Delicious and authentic food has always been central in Chinese culture to uniting people together over the table – we hope to continue doing this for you too.

"Came here from Looe as was told they had a vegan menu which they had and it was delicious. Had vegan lemon chicken, vegan duck and vegan chicken spicy and salt. It was gorgeous and taste so realistic so if you’re in Plymouth your vegan and want a Chinese, go here you won’t be disappointed!"
